Every year, 20 May reminds us of Hari Kebangkitan Nasional, a day when the spirit of unity and national awareness first sparked through the founding of Budi Utomo in 1908. In 2025, this day carries an even deeper meaning as Indonesia stands at the doorstep of its demographic bonus era—an extraordinary chance where the productive-age population outnumbers the non-productive ones.
From my point of view, this "Awakening Day" is not just a historical commemoration but a call to action. We are given a rare opportunity: if we can educate, empower, and involve our youth today, they can become the golden generation of 2045—when Indonesia celebrates its 100th year of independence.
However, this bonus is not automatic wealth. It is potential. To realize Indonesia Emas 2045, we must awaken a strong sense of responsibility, innovation, and collaboration—especially in our schools, campuses, and workplaces. It’s time we reawaken our passion for learning, our commitment to fairness, and our drive to lead with integrity.
Let this year’s Hari Kebangkitan Nasional be more than just a reflection on the past. Let it be a new awakening—for every young Indonesian to rise with purpose, and for every citizen to work together toward a prosperous, just, and advanced Indonesia.
